TUPELO, MS · OUR ROOM, YOUR DAY

Why Tupelo couples choose The Stables of Harp Farm.

Tupelo has a lot of beautiful wedding venues, but very few of them are actual barns. The Stables of Harp Farm is a rebuilt 1980s riding stable in Smithville, thirty-five minutes east of Tupelo, that gives you the genuine barn-wedding look without the box fans and bug spray.

Six thousand square feet of climate-controlled space, seven dining stables that turn a big room into seven cozier ones, white linens on the tables, chiffon-covered chairs in place, an Amish-built carriage parked at the front door. The chapel is outdoors under the trees with built-in pews and a cross at the end of the aisle, and the cottage out back sleeps four if the bride wants to stay over.

Tupelo brides typically tour two or three venues before booking. We are the one that smells like a real barn (in a good way), looks like a real farm in the photographs, and still keeps grandma comfortable at 72 degrees in August.

Most of our Tupelo couples are referred by a friend who has already had her wedding here. The photographer drives out, sees the chapel and the carriage, and starts adding the venue to her own list of favorites. Susan keeps a notebook of vendors who have worked the room well, and she will share it on your tour.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Questions from Tupelo families.

How many photographs do most couples get from the property?

Plenty. Couples shoot in the barn, at the chapel, on the gravel drive with the carriage, in the cottage rooms, along the fence line, and out in the open pasture. Most photographers tell us they could shoot a whole day without repeating a backdrop.

How many guests can the venue hold?

The Stables seats roughly 250 guests at round tables for a plated dinner, or up to 300 theater-style for a ceremony or program. The cottage handles intimate gatherings of 20 to 40, and the outdoor chapel seats 150 on pews.

What is included in the rental?

Every booking includes tables, white linens, chiffon-covered chairs, the pews at the chapel, the in-house sound system, and the handmade Amish carriage that doubles as a getaway car or a photo set piece. You bring the caterer; we hand you a list of locals who already know the kitchen.
