ABERDEEN, MS · OUR ROOM, YOUR DAY

Why Aberdeen couples choose The Stables of Harp Farm.

Aberdeen couples driving north on Highway 45 reach The Stables of Harp Farm in about forty minutes. The 300-acre family farm sits just over the Itawamba County line in Smithville, and it gives Monroe County brides a real barn wedding with the climate control and elbow room the historic-home venues downtown cannot match.

The 6,000 square foot barn was a 1980s riding stable before Buck and Susan Harp rebuilt it for events. Seven semi-private dining stables, white linens and chiffon-covered chairs in place, an Amish-built carriage parked at the front door, and an in-house sound system are all part of the rental.

The outdoor chapel sits in the trees a short walk from the barn. The cottage out back is a 1953 farmhouse with two bedrooms for the bridal party. Monroe County families regularly book the whole property for the weekend so the rehearsal dinner, the ceremony, and the reception live under one roof.
