HOUSTON, MS · OUR ROOM, YOUR DAY
Why Houston couples choose The Stables of Harp Farm.
Houston, Mississippi couples have been driving up to The Stables of Harp Farm in about an hour. The 300-acre family farm sits in Smithville, with a climate-controlled barn, outdoor chapel, and 1953 cottage all on one property — the kind of all-in-one venue Chickasaw County does not have many of.
The barn is a rebuilt 1980s riding stable: 6,000 square feet, seven semi-private dining stables, white linens and chiffon chairs included, and an Amish-built carriage parked at the front door. The chapel sits in the trees with built-in pews, and the cottage out back sleeps the bridal party.
Houston brides typically book the whole property for the weekend so the rehearsal dinner, the ceremony, and the reception all live under one roof. Susan keeps a vendor list for caterers and DJs who already know the room.
